Copper Utensils
Copper has a special place in Indian homes as the metal for drinking water. Many families fill a copper jug or bottle at night and drink from it in the morning, a habit handed down through generations, and a polished copper surahi or dispenser remains a favourite for the dining room and for gifting. Copper is best kept for water alone: unlined copper reacts with sour and salty foods, so lemon water, juices, curd and pickles belong in other vessels.

Our copper range includes water bottles in 500 ml, 600 ml, 900 ml and 1 litre sizes, water glasses, water jugs, surahis, and water dispensers in 7, 9, 11 and 14 litre capacities. Depending on the piece, finishes include plain, hammered, colour, nickel plated and antique coated. Prices vary with size, finish and the current copper rate, so ask for a quote on WhatsApp at +91 90807 22578, or see the full range at our Sullurupeta showroom.
Check the inside and the lid
For drinking water, choose pieces that are plain copper inside. With bottles, also check that the mouth is wide enough for a cleaning brush and the cap seals well. For coloured or coated pieces, ask us how the inside is finished.
Choose a finish you can maintain
Plain and hammered copper can be brightened with lemon and salt. Colour, nickel-plated and antique-coated finishes are surface treatments, so wipe them with a soft, damp cloth and avoid acidic cleaners or scrubbers that could wear them away.
Size dispensers to your household
Think about how much water your household drinks in a day. Smaller dispensers are easier to lift, refill and clean, while the 11 and 14 litre sizes suit larger families. A full dispenser is heavy, so set it on a sturdy stand first.
Questions
Copper Utensils: your questions
How do I clean a copper water bottle?
Clean the inside of a copper bottle with lemon juice and salt, using a bottle brush, then rinse well and leave it upside down to dry completely. Rinse it daily, give it this deeper clean every week or two, and keep it out of the dishwasher. Wipe coloured or coated exteriors gently with a soft cloth.
Can I store lemon water or juice in a copper bottle?
No, copper is best kept for plain drinking water. Sour and salty liquids such as lemon water, fruit juices and buttermilk react with bare copper, so store them in glass or stainless steel and keep your copper bottle, jug or surahi for water alone.
