Kitchen Appliances

Appliances are the part of the kitchen that gets used several times a day, so they deserve a careful choice. A mixer grinder for chutneys and masalas, a wet grinder for idli and dosa batter, a dependable stove and a rice cooker that frees up a burner can make daily cooking noticeably easier. The right model depends less on features than on how your family cooks: how much batter you grind, how many dishes go on the stove at once and how much rice you make.

01

Mixer wattage and jars

For everyday chutneys, masalas and occasional batter, 550 to 750 W is usually enough, while 1000 W suits heavier, frequent grinding. Three jars cover most kitchens, and a fourth adds flexibility; ask us what each model includes.

02

Use induction-ready cookware

Induction stoves only work with vessels that have a flat, magnetic base, such as cast iron and induction-base steel or triply. Test your existing vessels with a fridge magnet before buying, and choose a single or double hob to suit how you cook.

03

Read rice cooker capacity carefully

Rice cooker sizes are given in litres and in uncooked rice: 0.6 litres takes about 300 g, 1.8 litres about 1 kg and 2.8 litres about 1.5 kg. Double-bowl models come with a second bowl, handy for back-to-back batches.

Questions

Kitchen Appliances: your questions

Should I buy a wet grinder or use a mixer grinder for idli batter?

If you make idli and dosa batter regularly, a wet grinder is worth having. Its stone rollers grind soaked rice and urad dal slowly into a smooth batter in larger quantities, and many families find the idlis come out softer. A mixer grinder is better suited to chutneys, masalas and small batches of batter.

Which mixer grinder brands are available in Sullurupeta?

Ramachandhraa Stores in Sullurupeta carries mixer grinders from Preethi, Panasonic, Ultra, Greenchef and Vidiem, in 3 and 4 jar models from 550 W to 1000 W. Visit the showroom opposite SBI Bank on Gandla Street, Tuesday to Sunday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, or WhatsApp +91 90807 22578 for current models and prices.

Glass top or stainless steel gas stove: which is better?

Both work well; the choice comes down to looks and upkeep. A glass top looks sleek and wipes clean quickly but needs care with heavy vessels, while a stainless steel body is sturdy and forgiving of daily knocks. We carry 2, 3 and 4 burner models in both styles from Preethi, Butterfly, Ultra and Vidiem.
