About this piece
Mixer Grinder
Morning coconut chutney, a ground masala for the afternoon curry, a month's sambar powder: the mixer grinder, or mixie, is the most-used appliance in many Indian kitchens. It grinds wet masalas, blends juices and milkshakes, powders spices and, in smaller batches, makes idli and dosa batter. The right combination of jars and motor power decides how easily it keeps up with your cooking.
We stock models with 3 jars at 550 W, 600 W, 750 W and 1000 W, and with 4 jars at 600 W, 750 W and 1000 W, from brands such as Preethi, Panasonic, Ultra, Greenchef and Vidiem; each brand offers its own mix. Higher power suits frequent heavy grinding and larger families. Test the feel of the jars and lids in our Sullurupeta showroom before you decide.

Questions
Before you buy
Still unsure about a size or finish? Ask us on WhatsApp — a photo of your stove or shelf helps.
How much wattage do I need in a mixer grinder?
For daily chutneys, wet masalas and juices, 550 W to 750 W is enough for most homes. Choose 1000 W if you often grind dry spices, hard grains or large batches. Models with 3 jars and with 4 jars both come in 600 W, 750 W and 1000 W.
Do I need a mixer grinder with 3 jars or 4 jars?
Three jars, usually a large jar, a medium jar and a small chutney jar, cover most everyday cooking. A fourth jar is handy if you make juices often or want a separate jar for batter, so you are not washing between tasks.
